How many Types of Concretes are Present on Earth ?

 At the Starting when the Engineering Starts to play a Role on Earth was a Long Time ago and that time Concrete was not mixture of Cement and Aggregates , It was Mixture of Any Natural material such as Mud , Sand , Animal Waste , Rice Husk and even cement was not Invented that time After certain Revolution Lime comes in game and People Started constructing everything using lime and mixture of lime with milk , sand , gravels . even animal blood was used that time is then Called as Lime Concrete .

So , Now you can get that concrete is not just meant to be cement , without cement concrete do exists , But After certain more Revolution cement was invented and as the color and shape of cement was as same as stones of Portland to Cement Termed as Portland Cement Time and mixture of it with aggregates was termed as Portland Cement Concrete and After some more Revolutions the people started inventing and advancing more and more types of cement that can be used under certain circumstances and from that time to today everyday a New form of Concrete is Discovered and Today we are going to Discuss about these Types of Concrete and we will Define each and every type of concrete that exists on our Planet Earth. Let us Now Start with the Beginning :

Bitumen Concrete or Asphalt 

Well we all know that Bitumen is the material that is left behind after extracting all the types of Fuels such as Petrol , Diesel , Kerosene Oil and many more from the Petroleum and we can also say that bitumen is the waste material of Petroleum or crude oil , But this waste material namely bitumen is having much superior properties that is why people started making roads out of it and the First Revolution was started in Europe and Now Almost Every Road of every country is made up of Bitumen and Bitumen Concrete is made during the Paving of a Road , To make bitumen concrete we have to take bitumen and mix it with coarse Aggregates and then heat it up and as Result Bitumen Concrete will be formed and Bitumen mixed with such aggregates to form concrete is Often termed by the name Asphalt. The Bitumen Concrete was used in 1870 for the first time to Pave a Road.

Normal or Plain Concrete 

Normal Concrete is the most simpler form of concrete and it is the first form of cement concrete that was used . From that day till Now the Plain Concrete is still in use as well as this concrete is always in use during every construction project . The Normal concrete is just a mixture of 3 things in a definite proportions Cement . Aggregates and Water and let me also tell you that using plain concrete you can attain strength up to 40Mpa .To achieve more than that we have to use another concrete which will be discussed further . This Normal concrete is used making Floors , Pavement of roads , covering the sanitary pipes and in sewage manholes.

High Strength Concrete 

This is the Type of Concrete which is being used in Flyovers , Bridges and in the Pile Foundation of Skyscraper Buildings as well as Dams and this high Strength Concrete can be made using a fine proportion of every mix elements as well as using certain admixtures . The Concrete that are having Compressive Strength of 28 days more than 40 Mpa come under this type of concrete. And one of the most powerful way to achieve this high strength is to minimize the Water Cement Content as much as possible.

RCC

The Full Form of RCC is Reinforced Cement Concrete and It is most commonly used Concrete in every kind of construction project and this concrete Concrete is Casted in an Element After making all the Arrangements for the Reinforcement and The Fact about this concrete is that any type of concrete can be used in this RCC , RCC is not a Concrete , It is an Casted Element which became so After Casting or Filling the Reinforcement under the Shuttering or formwork fully with the Concrete or Normal Concrete. RCC is the most Stronger Concrete than the All Other Types of concrete Because we know that Concrete is string in compression and weak in Tension and So To Improve the Tensile power the Concrete is Poured in Steel bars under the arrangement of all the Steel Bars tie up together in a manner and as a Resulted RCC is Formed .

Lightweight Concrete

The Concrete is one of the Rigid and most Durable entity of the world but if anything have advantages and their will be some consequences also and in case of concrete it is the weight of concrete and if we compare with wood then concrete is less stronger than wood because wood is much stronger than concrete as we compare in terms of weight because it lighter and portable . From the Term Portable I might tell you an example that in case of high rise buildings mainly the skyscrapers ,the concrete has a certain limits of pumping height and beyond that height concrete is not portable that is why the Top Stories of Skyscrapers are made out of wooden or Steel Structures , But the thing is that concrete lasts more than a century and it is most affordable as well as easily available materials so the people are working on how to improve this shortcoming of Concrete and as a Solution the Lightweight Concrete comes into play. Lightweight Concrete is a Concrete whose unit weight is 1200 to 1500 kg/m3 however the Normal Concrete is having unit weight of 2400 kg/m3 generally and Now Let us move towards the composition of this . Lightweight Concrete Comprises of mixture of some Lightweight pozzolanic materials in replacement of some part of sand and the lightweight aggregates are used in Batching .

Prestressed Concrete 

First of All Let me Tell you Prestressed Concrete is not a Material or Fresh Concrete , It is Final Product of Concrete Element that is Produced by using some methods or procedure and we will talk it further But First of All we will talk about why Prestressed concrete is so Stressed . The Story is that when the Evolution in the field of Highways and Flyovers Started , The People thought to Improve it to get better Service and In Case of the Normal Concrete After Attaining 28 days the Structures is Exposed to the Stress and Load But In case of Prestressed Concrete the Stress is given from the First Day even before the casting and that is done by holding the Steel wires that are used in Replacement of Steel Bars and Stretching them to Further Extent and After that the Casting is done and After Attaining much Strength the Force that is Stretching wires is Released and Now we can use that and The simple Analogy in this Concrete Element is that whenever Load is given to normal RCC the Steel Bars Tend to Bending Action in Downward Direction But If Stretch that Bars so that this Bending can be Covered it will be a stable entity , So that is Concept Behind Prestressed Concrete .

Air Entrained Concrete

Air Entrained Concrete is Nothing but a Solution for your damping / Wetness Problem , Yes you may have a part in your house that always remains wet and the Corresponding Masonry as well as Concrete Elements shall be infected by that . See , The thing is that Concrete is a Waterproof Element but it is not purely you know that after giving full compaction their is possibility that air voids will be their and their is no way to remove complete air void from concrete and that air voids causes the problem to concrete But in Case of Air Entrained Concrete we produce Air Voids in Concrete but in a Well Mannered way and now these voids will help concrete in achieving maximum durability and you will say that how it is possible as I earlier said that air void may be a Problem But The thing is that if we produces Air Voids by our own wish in a Well mannered Pattern the moisture inside concrete will move through that pattern and at the last it will be expelled out to atmosphere and that is how it works .So , Now move towards the composition part or how actually it is made . Take Cement , aggregates in a definite proportion and then we have to only impart air inside concrete with the help of pump . Actually we have to create bubbles inside concrete up to 4 to 7 % of that of Volume of Concrete.
